MGP CAR CHRONICLES: BUILD OF THE MONTH – MARCH 2025

Ben Emanuel’s (@sting_gray_jeep) 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland in Sting Gray is a testament to his passion for vehicle customization.

From lighting enhancements to performance upgrades, Ben has meticulously built a Gladiator that reflects both his personality and functional needs.

Lighting The Way

A self-proclaimed lighting enthusiast, Ben has equipped his Gladiator with an extensive array of lights to ensure visibility in any situation. His setup includes:

  • 7-inch yellow spotlights
  • Four 2-inch cube lights in the bumper
  • Two 2-inch cube lights on the front cowls
  • RGB rock and strip lights illuminating the wheel wells, frame, grille, and interior footwells
  • Reverse spotlights mounted on the rear bumper

Wheels, Tires, and Suspension

Ben’s Jeep rides on Rocktrix RT117 wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country ATIII tires, a combination that pairs perfectly with his yellow MGP caliper covers. His suspension setup includes:

  • 1.5-inch Teraflex leveling kit
  • Jeep Gladiator Rubicon shocks and springs, replacing the stock Overland trim components

Exterior Upgrades

Ben’s Gladiator is built for both function and style, featuring:

  • Magnum RT Full Width Front Bumper with skid plate
  • Overland Vehicle Systems 12K synthetic winch
  • Bestop Granite Series rear rock rails and bumper
  • Mopar Performance Rock Rails
  • Strands Lighting Division cube lights, yellow driving lights, and rear work lights

Versatile Bed Setup

One of Ben’s favorite additions is his Diamondback HD Cover, which allows him to add crossbars or telescoping racks for additional storage. Inside the bed, he has maximized organization with Builtright Industries Molle Panels, providing secure storage for all his accessories.

Interior Enhancements

Inside, Ben has taken comfort and utility to the next level:

  • Katzkin quilted leather seats featuring the Jeep grille logo
  • Infinite Offroad RGB strip lighting
  • Seatback Molle Panel
  • sPod Bantam with HD Controller

A Jeep Legacy

Ben’s love for Jeeps started at an early age. Growing up, his dad drove Jeep Grand Cherokees and Commanders, and his 95-year-old grandfather still drives a two-door Jeep Wrangler JK. When the Gladiator was announced, Ben knew it was the perfect blend of a Wrangler’s open-air freedom with the added utility of a truck bed. After patiently waiting for the right opportunity, he finally scored his dream Gladiator at a great price.

MGP Caliper Covers: The Perfect Accent

MGP caliper covers have been a part of Ben’s Jeep journey for years, with his fourth set now proudly installed on his Gladiator. Inspired by past family vehicles adorned with MGP caliper covers, Ben knew he wanted a standout color that would complement his build. With yellow being his favorite color, he designed a custom fender vent decal incorporating a bee and a stingray, tying the theme together. Once the decal was on, yellow MGP caliper covers were the perfect finishing touch. The distinct Jeep logos on the front and rear covers, paired with their vibrant yellow color, solidify his vehicle’s bold and cohesive look.

Ben Emanuel’s 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland is a stunning example of passion-driven customization. Whether it’s the meticulous lighting setup, off-road ready upgrades, or the striking yellow accents, this build is truly one-of-a-kind.
