We’d like to acknowledge and congratulate one of our own: Spencer Boyd, professional NASCAR Truck Series Driver and MGP Caliper Cover team member, won at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this month! Spencer and the team put in a tremendous effort in getting to this race and making it to the winner’s circle and we couldn’t be more proud. Things took an exciting turn when Johnny Sauter, expecting to take first, drew a penalty for blocking driver Riley Herbst below the yellow line in the last 200 yards of the race. Spencer Boyd, who finished just .132 seconds behind Sauter, was with his crew when news came that the finish was under review. Spencer shared his excitement in those moments with NASCAR Wire Service after the race. “Man, second is amazing for us. We’re happy. We finished 4th in Daytona in this truck. And then one of my crew guys is like ‘we just won!’ I can’t believe this! Two weeks ago I wasn’t running this race… It’s been a tough season, it’s been a lot of fun.” We look forward to watching and cheering Spencer on as the season comes to a close.
